AKW Getting an electric feel for
popular showers this spring W
ith spring in full swing many bathrooms across the nation will be getting a refresh or complete renovation. While April is typically known for its seasonal downpours, showers of the electric kind are providing a brighter outlook for buildings thanks to innovation from leading manufacturers. A popular option, electric showers are universally considered to be highly reliable and are especially suitable for buildings with multiple showers or boiler restrictions.
At AKW, we applied our vast experience in both the public and private sectors along with real insight from end-users and installers to develop the next generation of electric showers: our iShowers range. With three options to choose from, iShowers offers a sleek and modern solution for all budgets and needs, with the safety benefits that AKW is renowned for. The range includes iSure, a simple mechanical electric shower ideal for replacements, right through to iCare - a digital, WiFi controlled shower that not only exudes luxury but is also designed to meet the needs of the less able.
The mid-range iTherm is a thermostatic electric shower with a modern high gloss, easy clean finish. Contemporary LED temperature and flow indicators ensure the perfect thermostatically stabilised shower every time. With simple yet independent temperature and flow controls, the shower includes an easy push power button that maintains the settings for the next shower.
Advanced shutdown features further enhance safety and prolong each unit’s lift. Auto shutdown shuts off the unit if the cold water supply fails and/or if the iTherm has been running continuously for 30 minutes, while phased shutdown flushes all residual hot water from the unit and hose to make it safe for the next user and to reduce lime scale. With smooth, rounded edges, iTherm has a clever, universal size and shape which covers almost every manufacturer’s model, making it the ideal replacement shower. By completely covering the footprint of the old unit, iTherm reduces, or in some cases removes, the need for any extra tiling work or touch ups. The shower is also designed to specifically work with existing cabling and pipework, with
multiple and flexible entry points for both electricity and water to make installation hassle-free. These features also help to overcome positioning limitations, which not only speeds up the installation process but also provides additional flexibility in the overall design of the bathroom.
iTherm comes in choice of 8.5kw or 9.5kw, IP45 safety rated options and an accessories kit, including a chrome effect hose, adjustable chromes riser rail, multi-mode chrome shower head and soap dish. With a market-leading three-year guarantee, iTherm is available direct from AKW or from leading merchants.
