UltraTile helps Bella Italia create bold new

Mediterranean design Bellas nationwide are getting a fun and fab new makeover! Creating this colourful, quirky new Italian style dining experience is commercial wall and floor tiling contractors, The Great Northern Tiling Company (GNTC), using UltraTile adhesives.

A TTA member and esteemed UltraTile partner, GNTC secured the commercial contract for the Beckton restaurant's makeover. The prestigious contract included kitchen, front of house, toilet and bar areas, all of which had their own distinctive type of tile from 400mm squared to brick slips and mosaics. GNTC choose to use their preferred adhesives UltraTile ProFlex SP and ProFlex SP+ES throughout the project. Both adhesives are S1 classified, can be laid at depths up to 20mm and are available in a choice of white or grey. ProFlex SP has a pot life of 1 hour and is rapid setting allowing grouting to commence after 2.5 hours. ProFlex SP+ES its sister product boasts all the same great qualities with an extended pot life, ideal for intricate work, of 2 hours and a set time of 16 hours. The adhesives are suitable for fixing porcelain, glass, mosaic and natural stone tiles. They can be used on either walls or floors, internally or externally and with underfloor heating or on swimming pool installations. Billy Lockwood, GNTC states: "We use UltraTile products because of their competitive prices and their high quality performance." Several other Bella Italia restaurant makeovers were also completed last year by GNTC using UltraTile materials.

The new look restaurant is now open and is a main attraction of the Gallions Reach Retail Park. Diners are impressed by the vibrant atmosphere created by the new interiors.

Tilemaster Adhesives has introduced five new colours to its best-selling flexible grout range - Grout 3000. Now including fourteen options, the high versatile range spans from pure white to charcoal. The new on-trend tones have been developed in response to customer feedback and colour match Tilemaster’s neutral-cure Silicone 3000 range. Grout 3000 is suitable for wall and floor tile installations – inside and out – and comprises over 25% recycled material. The introductions are also supported by new colour charts – in two formats - with removal grout strips for easy colour matching.

New grout shades include sage, almond, cocoa,

natural grey and dark grey, and reflect current tile trends and colour forecasts. The versatile range is suitable for a wide variety of tile applications, from ceramics to limestone; for joint widths from 2mm-15mm and for most substrates. A mould-resistant formula and high water resistance make Grout 3000 ideal for wet areas, whilst its flexible composition is suitable for timber substrates and underfloor heating systems. During installation, Grout 3000 gives a working time of approximately 30-45 minutes and can accept foot traffic after approx. three hours (at 20°c). Final set time is 24 hours and the temperature range for application is 5-30°c.

Unlike traditional parquet staves which are glued down piece-by-piece, Kährs’ Chevron has a modern, plank format – measuring 1848x300x15mm - which is fast to install. The angled chevron pattern and ingenious ‘parallelogram’ short ends create the continuous V-shaped design, which is further emphasized by a bevelled edge. All boards are brushed to create a tactile lived-in look, which complements the warm white, weathered grey, classic brown and dark brown colour tones and the lively oak graining.

Kährs Chevron has a multi-layered construction, made up of a sustainable oak surface layer and a plywood core. This eco-friendly, engineered format makes the floor more stable and ideal for installation over underfloor heating.
