Transforming the market A

dvances in digital print technology have transformed the ceramic and porcelain

market. Precise shade variations can now be achieved which give a very authentic finish. As a result, manufacturers can create stunning effects with the added benefit of exceptional performance and durability.

Large format rock, stone and metallic tiles are especially popular, in both home and commercial environments. They offer a striking surface finish and, when installed with minimal grout lines, there’s little to detract from the aesthetic. There’s also a growing trend in combined large format specifications, where décor designs are used to create eye-catching features alongside same-sized plain tiles – as reflected with our own new Victoria range.

Comment by Alvin Biggs Managing Director, RAK Ceramics

The performance features of ceramic and porcelain tiles make them ideal for kitchen and bathroom environments - with easy care benefits adding to the appeal for homeowners and designers. Throughout the year, the market is expected to expand even more, with new large- format contemporary tiles steering trends and providing further scope for uninterrupted design schemes.

RAK UK’s own range now includes nineteen ceramic and porcelain tile collections, which provide an extensive choice of design options, in a variety of formats and finishes. New natural effects including Tour - a mottled stone effect in four striking shades – whilst the Surface décor range includes 12 chic patterned designs in subtle grey and gold patterns. A further new design – the Maximus Mega Slab – was also unveiled at KBB 2016; as one of just four manufactures in the world with cutting-edge Continua technology, RAK is now able to produce the extra-large new tiles with measurements up to 3m x 1.3, and in three thicknesses - 14.5mm, 12.5mm and 6mm.

Glamorous Victoria joins RAK’s Tile Collection A

new polished ceramic wall tile range has joined RAK’s Tile

Collection. Victoria includes a plain ivory and matching décor tile, that can be used in combination to create a stunning, chic aesthetic. The range is ideal for design-led bathroom schemes, where it also provides a host of practical benefits.

Both Victoria designs measure 40x80cm and have a high gloss finish. The décor design has an ivory floral motif with a muted gold background; it creates a very opulent look and can be used to form horizontal or vertical feature strips alongside the plain ivory design. Practical features include exceptional resistance to water and stains, abrasion, impact and fire. The surface is also easy to keep clean, making it ideal for hotel bathrooms; spa and style-led retail environments and for specification within the home.
