Rancho Cordova, CA — New from CyboEnergy is what the company calls the world’s first solar power mini-inverter that possesses the key merits of both central inverters and microinverters. The On/Off Grid CyboInverter can operate in either on-grid or off-grid mode, switching between the two modes automatical- ly depending on the grid condition. As climate change becomes

more catastrophic, power grid shut- downs are more frequent and severe. Ordinarily, on-grid inverters are designed to deliver power to the grid but cannot run as off-grid inverters to power AC loads, yet off-grid inverters cannot send power to the grid when the grid is up and running, and this means that the solar energy is wasted. The new combination inverter combines both functions in one inverter to offer grid flexibility. The basic new product is a 4-

channel 1.2kW On/Off-Grid Cybo - Inverter that has an on-grid AC out- put port and an off-grid AC output port. Each inverter has four input channels that can connect to four 300W DC sources including solar panels, wind generators, hydro- gen- erators, or batteries and produce 1150W AC peak power. Each input channel has its own control and MPPT to eliminate solar partial shading problems and maximize power production. The product is patented, UL1741 certified, NEMA 6 (IP67) rated, and made in the USA. During normal operating condi-

tions when the grid is on, the On/Off- Grid CyboInverter works like a regu- lar on-grid inverter that meets all UL1741 requirements including: over- or under-voltage shutdown; over- or under-frequency shutdown; and anti-islanding. When the grid is down, the inverter will shut down immediately based on the UL safety rules. After a few seconds, the invert- er will automatically switch to off- grid mode to support an off-grid AC circuit and power AC loads such as lights, fans, TV, computers, phone- chargers, and small refrigerators. When the grid returns, the inverter

includes two on-grid CyboInverters and one on/off-grid CyboInverter. All three inverters can be installed on the building’s roof, daisy-chained. The on- grid AC output wire of the on/off-grid inverter is daisy-chained with an on- grid inverter. This way, only one on- grid AC wire runs down from the roof to connect to L1-L2 of a 20A branch circuit of the electric panel. The off- grid AC output wire from the on/off- grid CyboInverter can go through a junction box and run inside the house to support a 1.2kW off-grid AC circuit. The special multiple input

channel de sign of the CyboInverter product family offers seamless inte- gration of re new able energy sources, including solar, wind,

fuel-cell,

hydro, and batteries where energy storage is desirable. The On/Off-Grid CyboInverter

can significantly improve the useful- ness of solar power systems and make them more competitive com- pared with fossil fuel and other types of renewable energy, resulting in bet- ter return-on-investment (ROI) and faster adoption of solar energy in the

global market. Contact: CyboEnergy, Inc. and

Columbus, OH — Gone are the days when enclosure manufacturers of - fered a one-size-fits-all enclosure. Since Buckeye Shapeform began to offer customers online capability to customize standard enclosure de - signs, the numbers are showing that customers like it and that it also speeds up the process of getting a product to market. Buckeye Shapeform added a

CAD function to its website, which includes a catalog of thousands of enclosures that the company can pro- duce for its customers. Now that it has been in place for about a year, the data shows that customers like the ability to take the CAD design, download it, customize it and send it back for manufacturing. In the past eight months alone, customers have downloaded 500 designs. Few enclosure manufacturers

offer the customization that Buckeye Shapeform offers, and the company

is not aware of any who offer cus- tomers the capability to download 3- D designs to customize themselves. In a typical situation, Parker

Hannifin’s Hydraulic Pump Division recently used the CAD function after contacting the company because it wanted to improve its current enclo- sure. Buckeye Shapeform suggested that the client use the standard Xpand-A custom aluminum enclo- sure because of its rigidness and ver- satility in size. After sending Parker Hannifin a sample enclosure, which the customer liked, Buckeye Shape - form suggested that they download the three-dimensional CAD model from the website in order to modify it. The customer did that, emailed the customized drawings and
