Broadway Limited announces Paragon 3 system
HO — Broadway Limited Imports (BLI) issued its 2015 product catalog recently with a wealth of new prod- ucts. For HO, BLI will introduce its Paragon 3 sound system. New loco- motives will feature Digital Command Control (DCC) and enhanced sound system electronics with what promises to be innovative technology. Paragon 3 will present operators with rumble via a system link to a subwoofer unit. New releases equipped with Paragon 3 electronics will send a wireless signal to a small receiver that works with vir- tually any subwoofer. You’ll be able to purchase the coming Rolling Thunder Receiver (#1596) alone or packaged in BLI’s Complete Rolling Thunder Receiver & Subwoofer Kit (#1595). The latest BLI product catalog
shows the majority of planned HO- scale locomotives (both steam and
diesel) as coming equipped with Para- gon 3 electronics. These models will function in standard DC or DCC envi- ronments just like the manufacturer’s previous series of Paragon 2 releases. Never-before-offered

nouncements for new steam locomo- tives include Milwaukee Road S-3 Northern 4-8-4, New York Central’s Commodore Vanderbilt 4-6-4 Hudson, and a Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4. Walthers Proto Pennsylvania P70 coach
HO — Pennsylvania Railroad P70 coaches are coming to HO scale from Walthers Proto. These Pennsy pro- totypes operated all over the road’s system in commuter, long-distance, and local runs. Walthers plans P70 and P70R coach models in two levels. One version will retail for $69.98; models with factory-installed light- ing will retail for $84.98. A variety
of Pennsy paint schemes dating from 1939 to the early 1950s are coming, as well as Pennsylvania-Reading Sea- shore Lines and Long Island Rail- road cars.
