Get to grips with HP SDN A
A special software-defined networking demonstration facility is now available alongside the full range of technologies within its HP Enterprise Group Demo Lab
zlan is offering to help resellers get to grips with the concept of software-defined networking (SDN) by providing access to a fully-equipped proof-of-
concept and demonstration centre at its HP Enterprise Group Demo Lab facility in Basingstoke.
SDN is expected to be one of the next big trends in the enterprise market. According to International Data Corporation (IDC), the worldwide SDN market for the enterprise and cloud service provider segments will grow from $960 million in 2014 to over $8 billion by 2018, a CAGR of 89.4%1.
Azlan’s HP Enterprise Group team has built the lab-based facility to provide a simple way for you to set-up test environments and demonstrations for customers and to educate your own sales and technical teams. It is available to use free of charge, by arrangement with Azlan’s HP team.
Jonathan Kaiser, HP Solutions Architect at Azlan says: ‘Software-defined networking promises to completely re-define the way that infrastructures are designed and managed. But while it is deliverable today, most VARs and
end-user customers are only just starting to learn about the concept and everything that it entails. We have set up the SDN demo facility so that resellers can brief both their own teams on the technology and show their customers what SDN is all about and the benefits it can deliver.’
HP has been leading the way with its SDN ecosystem approach, which provides a simple, agile and automated end-to-end solution for managing the entire network, from the data centre to the branch office and department. HP supports open standards hardware and virtual technologies – such as OpenFlow and VXLAN – and its SDN architecture, coupled with innovative network virtualisation technologies, pave the way for customers to make the very best use of cloud-based services and resources.
If you’d like to see how HP’s approach to software defined networking works in practice, request a demonstration session or see any other HP networking technology in action, please contact Jack Tokarski, HP Networking Solutions Architect on 07771 503853 or email him at

Proof is in the printing – HP Officejet lasers come out on top in Buyers Lab tests
T
he Officejet Pro X and the Officejet Enterprise X demonstrated considerable
advantages over competitive laser models in many categories when tested by the independent Buyers Lab.
Te HP laser printers were found to be more reliable in operation, generated less waste packaging and consumed much less power, making them a better choice for general office use, according to Buyers Lab. But don’t take our word for it – watch the excellent video on which Buyers Lab outlines the results. It is a great sales pitch and may well be worth Tweeting to your customers and linking from your website –
