Acer sets sights on business with new Chromebooks
A
cer is setting its sights on the business market with its new range of Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. Te company is offering a great choice of models –
from the powerful Celeron-based desktops to versatile and very affordable touch-screen laptops.
Te Acer Chromebook 11 C730, C720 and C720P (the latter comes with a touch-screen) models are already attracting plenty of attention. Te C730 stands out mainly for its rugged construction, which will appeal to buyers in every market.
Chromebooks generally are not noted for being sturdy. Te attractive-looking Acer C730 though, has a water spill-proof keyboard and touchpad (and its own drainage channel) and is also capable of coping with everyday knocks. Te Acer C730 can come with 4GB of RAM which is highly desired amongst business users.
All these systems come with an excellent set of features, including full wireless support and extended battery life – it should last over eight hours on a single charge. Tey have Intel Celeron N2830 processors and like all Chrome devices, boot up in just a few seconds. Te 11.6-inch Acer ComfyView LED backlit TFT LCD display is HD and has
a resolution of 1366 x 768 and a 16:9 wide aspect ratio. USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 provide for easy data sharing and external storage connections. Tere is also an SD Card reader, combo headphone/speaker jack, and HDMI port.
Tis impressive spec gives you an idea of just how good these Acer Chrome systems are – and there is something to suit every customer in the range.
Tom Baker, Google Sales Specialist at Tech Data says that more enquiries on Chrome from business as well as public sector are starting to come in.
‘We have seen a real pick-up over the last few weeks and not just from education and local government. SMBs and even some corporate organisations are starting to explore it as a viable option. Our advice to resellers in all sectors of the market would be that, if you are not making customers aware of Chrome already, it’s probably time to make a start. Tis is now a viable and attractive option for many businesses.
