OUR PANEL OF SENIOR TRAVEL BUYERS has spent many hours studying all the entries for the 22 awards categories, and tackled the formidable challenge of whittling them down to the shortlist for the big night on January 19. “Drawing up the shortlist has been
tough,” says Mike Toynbee, chairman of the judges and Buying Business Travel managing editor. “Once again, the judges have been highly impressed by the standard of entries, which appears to improve each year.” He adds: “Because the categories are so keenly contested, inevitably this does result in some disappointment, as a number of excellent entries have just failed to make it on to the shortlist by the narrowest of margins.” The judges represent a wide range of
industry sectors, including energy, phar- maceuticals, retail and finance (see p45). For the second phase, the judges will be
meeting this month to analyse and assess those shortlisted companies, and to agree on the winners. The results will be announced on
Monday, January 19, at the Business Travel Awards 2015 gala dinner and presentation in the Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House hotel.
