LETTERS Financial aid fan

As my two co-chair fundraisers and I are getting ready for our 50th reunion next year, I was impressed with President Glotzbach’s essay in the spring Scope. I am proud of Skidmore's commitment to a financial aid program that “ensures that we can make Skidmore accessible to every student with the ability, passion, and dedication to make a difference in the world.” We all should make an effort to contribute to this commitment in whatever way is possible. We had the privilege to have graduated from Skid- more, and now we owe the next genera- tions of students the opportunity to do the same.

Gotta laugh

The spring Scope asked for funny professor stories. Bernie Possidente, my biology professor and advisor at Skid- more, was inspirational, thoughtful, and funny—but not funny in the way that he thought he was. After big exams he’d routinely break out old Three Stooges movies for us to watch. They were epically awful. But it was hilarious watching him laugh: covering his mouth, looking down at his red Keds sneakers, and shaking from giggling so hard that he’d wind up snorting. And now I hear that he’s been rewrit- ing Johnny Cash lyrics. Which should be a crime.
