LEFT Top three in senior calf class, winning was Riverdane Brady Ghost.


BELOW Sterndale Shadow Anna took the Intermediate calf class.


this show over the years. Judge Barratt gave his winner the advantage in the strength of topline, rear leg and more balance on parade. Third place went to Paul and Mark Day with Bickleygate Expo Sara just losing out on second for depth of rib and front end strength. In-calf heifers saw a win for the Pratt family from Leyburn, yet another pair of young brothers making their mark in the breed. Studdah Sid Raven 2 had a handy win in our judge’s reasons showing more dairyness and cleaner front end over the Bradley’s Langpark Betajet. Third place Hailstone Apple Peggy Red came from the Wilsons of Cumbria who were back in force again this year with a strong team of cows.


Junior cow in-calf saw the Butterfi elds win the fi rst of their many leading prizes. Homebred Ingleview Rebel Lamy led the way for her dairyness and superb udder from Paul


Harrison’s Chishillways Sam Carmen 2, an excellent bodied cow who was given great praise by our judge.


Senior cows were led again by the same team with the forever young past champion of this show, Saxelby Goldwyn Rose. She got great praise from judge Barratt for her perfect body conformation, breed character and her excellent udder. Runner-up was again Paul Harrison with the homebred Chishillways Goldie 2, another great bodied young looking cow. Rose can now boast six fi rst prizes and the championship at this show, a fi rst class achievement. First of the milk classes and the senior heifers were led by the unbeaten Sterndale Atwood Noel from the Nadin team. Praised
