With the heifer classes done and dusted, it was time for the heifer championship. Champion went to


class. Judge Smith really admired this two year-old, calling her: “A runaway winner.” Awarding her best udder, her overall balance gave her the advantage over Cauldcoats Wildman Lavendar in second. Again, it was her balance and maturity which saw her stand above the silky black Errolston Iota Ricki.


The mature heifer, Logan Baltimor Barb, stood at the top of the line in the senior cow in-milk class. Her size, length and power gave her the advantage over Vetech Braxton Robette in second place. Second over third, it was her stature and extra depth that put her above the balanced heifer, Syke Twilight Maude Red.

Parading into the ring of second calvers, unknown to the spectators at that point, was the Holstein champion and interbreed reserve champion of the day, Parkend Sanchez Tamara. Judge Smith described her as: “An outstanding winner.” Her balance and udder are what put her over Cauldcoats T Baxter Camilla 3 in second. In a very close placing, she was pulled out in front of the large framed Meiklefirth Plaid Lutske in third because the judge preferred the height in her rear udder. Even though there was only one cow in the ring, Errolston Miss Maul was a worthy winner of a red rosette in the third calver class. The aged cow class saw three forward. Inch Burns Lilac was admired by judge Smith for her balance, strong top and as well as being awarded first place she was also awarded best udder in the class. She had the advantage over Logan Mr Sam Gail in second place as she had more bloom in the udder. Second over third, the
