Sixty years of
supporting and encouraging women in the travel industry is a great

The industry
is fast moving and dynamic, and there are many fantastic women who are
making a difference – many are in key roles in my team at easyJet. The best reason for making companies more balanced is that they will better reflect the needs of consumers – a large proportion of whom will be female. They will also have a broader
range of leadership styles and will be more agile and flexible to cope with an ever-changing world. More than 30% of easyJet’s 200 senior management positions are held by women and we are working hard to ensure there is a

It’s a great
message to send out that women matter, we are here to
stay and make a huge difference to our businesses’ success. A diversified team or board is a more successful one. It is also important for younger women to know that there are a few ‘veterans’ around who are more than willing to help. If you don’t have a financial
background, understand your numbers, as decisions need to be fact based. Recruit the best you can find/afford and then trust them to get on with the job. Never trust a manager who hasn’t made a mistake, and if you find passion, hang on to it.
