Antony spent the last two decades immersed in the world of civil engineering and infrastructure as a


journalist with New Civil Engineer magazine where for 13 years until November 2013 he was the editor. He is a chartered civil engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. As an award winning journalist he has covered some of the biggest stories and projects in the UK from the Heathrow Express Collapse in 1994 to the World Trade Centre tragedy in 2001. As editor of NCE he was responsible for driving the magazine’s portfolio of live events and conferences and most recently spearheaded the magazine’s move from paper to digital.


Gabriel Buck Barclays


Gabriel is a qualified banker with more than 33 years international banking experience. He


is a Managing Director at Barclays Investment Banking and Global Head of Export Credit Agency Financing & Capex Financing Solutions Group. His work involves advising and executing cross border trade and infrastructure projects, mostly in the developing world, working with Governments and State Owned Enterprises.


Malcolm Bairstow EY


Malcolm Bairstow leads EY’s global Capital & Infrastructure Practice which advises governments and corporate clients on all aspects of major capital programmes. He is currently leading advisory teams in the UK and across EMEIA. Recent clients have included the Olympic Delivery Authority, Network Rail, the BBC, Transport for Greater Manchester, Glasgow 2014 and a number of

international organisations. A Chartered Civil Engineer, Malcolm is on the Board of British Expertise and the Advisory Board of ACE. Prior to joining EY in 2000, Malcolm was Managing Director of Schal, the Carillion subsidiary, where he was responsible for projects at the Royal Opera House, Tate Modern & National Botanic Gardens of Wales and a number of major rail and airport programmes.


Philippe Gautier UKTI


Philippe Gautier is Sector Financial Services Specialist for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and is responsible for contributing to a marketing strategy to promote the UK, supporting existing inward investor relations and prospective new inward investors. Prior to joining the Sector Champion programme, Philippe was a business consultant and has acted as a Business Expert witness on behalf of the Liquidator in the Barings case.


Manish Gupta EY


Manish Gupta is head of EY’s Transport Infrastructure practice. He specialises in transport infrastructure financing in both the UK and internationally, and has advised a range of public and private sector organisations.


Peter Chamley Arup


Peter Chamley is a member of Arup’s group board. A Chartered Civil Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in infrastructure and major civil engineering projects worldwide, Peter leads Arup’s Infrastructure work in the UK, Middle East and Africa. Most recently, based in London, Peter has been leading the design of over 40km of bored tunnels below the city for the Crossrail project.


Other recent projects have included Chief Engineer for the design of the Second Avenue Subway and leading the contractor’s design activities for the No. 7 Line Extension, both in New York, USA.


Andrew Ivison CMS Cameron McKenna LLP


Andrew Ivison is a partner in the Infrastructure & Project Finance group at CMS Cameron McKenna. Andrew acts for a significant number of leading international and domestic banks and financial institutions and has advised lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of structured finance transactions both in the UK and overseas. Andrew became a partner in 1987.


Geoff Bee RIBA


Geoff joined Weston Williamson in 2004 and became a Senior Partner in 2013. Geoff


spent his early career in several distinguished offices throughout the UK, culminating at Foster and Partners. Since joining Weston Williamson, Geoff has primarily been focused on infrastructure and urban planning projects within the UK and abroad, for clients such as Crossrail, London Underground, Network Rail, Docklands Light Railway and the Malaysian Transport Authority.


Shyam Sankar Barclays


Shyam joined the


Barclays CAPEX Financing Solutions Group in 2012 following 9 years at WestLB and previously


4 years at PwC. Shyam has worked in a number of structured and project finance roles, with a particular focus on emerging markets. He is currently advising on and executing a number of ECA backed cross border trade and infrastructure transactions, mainly in Africa.
