So what is involved in creating a title like Irish Beauty? “Each issue takes around a month to put together, with our publication date being the first week of every month,” explains Melissa. “We put out a call for editorial around a month before publication based on our annual features list which outlines what each issue will be covering. The features list is put together before the start of every year based on our predictions for treatments that will be popular, staples that we know our readers will want

We work to a strict production schedule as it’s not only internal deadlines we have to meet – our readers expect their magazine to arrive at a certain time so we have printing slots booked and deadlines at our mailing house in Dun Laoghaire that we must meet.”


“In the future we’d like to revamp the IB website to incorporate more news and features, and we’re also looking into the possibility of launching the magazine as an App,” says Melissa. “However, we’ll continue to publish the title in a printed hard copy – there’s nothing like flicking through the pages of your favourite
