No.44 Student Retreats


A popular way to build community, alumni participated in numerous retreats that were held over the years at places including Redwood and Koinonia Christian Camps or Boulder Creek’s Camp Hammer. Some also recalled a period of time that retreats were held specifically for faculty and seniors.

For SJBC/SJCC students, everything happened in the Quad.


No.47 Alum Rock Park No.45 Double Diploma


Tere are only a few of our alumni who have this unique version of our diploma hanging in their office, classroom or home. To honor the move to Rocklin and remember their days at SJCC, the graduating class of the transition had the option of receiving a diploma listing both SJCC and William Jessup University.


No.46 Lake Jessup


Okay, so it isn’t Lake Tahoe but it is a destination for many students. What a great way to unwind after a long day of classes or just hang out with nature (near the freeway and behind the apartments) it’s a short walk from campus and worth the visit.


No.48 Wooden Pulpits


Tree of these wooden pulpits can still be found on our campus today bearing the SJBC inscription.


Some might remember the mineral pools at this popular picnic site not far from campus. Alum Rock Park is one of California’s oldest municipal parks. Te park offers 740 acres of natural, rugged beauty and continues to provide visitors with many leisure outdoor activities including hiking, jogging, bicycling and picnicking.


No.50 Scruffy


No, he wasn’t our mascot but he was one of our favorite four-legged friends over the years.


No.51 Our First Email Address


SJCC1939@aol.com was the first email address used on Admissions collateral items that identified the university. None other than VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger helped Jim Jessup install a modem and pull fiber optics through the campus.


No.52 Cross Country Trails


Te popular 1.5 mile course (one full loop) is open to the public and hosted various meets for numerous schools throughout our region. Te course has hosted charity and awareness running events with flexibility to support runs ranging from 1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles, 5k, 6k, 4 miles, 8k and 10k courses as well.
