General Shipboard Information (cont.) Climate Control
Although the ship maintains a comfortable temperature at all times, each suite/stateroom has its own individually controlled thermostat for air conditioning and heating. Please contact your stewardess if you have any questions.
Ia Orana Daily Program
Ia Orana, the daily program prepared by our friendly and attentive staff, contains important information about daily activities, schedule changes, dining hours, office hours, and the hours kept by Le Boutique on board. It will also provide helpful information regarding the areas you will visit. It will be placed in your suite/stateroom each evening to make sure you are well informed for the following day.
Disabled Guests
Guests requiring special consideration on board due to physical disabilities are requested to inform us when they book their trip. In the interest of all our guests, we cannot take anyone on board who has not informed us about these needs in advance. It is necessary for all disabled guests to travel with a partner who will provide all support and assistance required. Due to the weather, natural terrain, and modes of transportation involved, disabled guests may not be able to participate in all activities. A wheelchair-accessible stateroom is available, and Paul Gauguin Cruises is more than willing to provide further information regarding guests with special needs upon request.
Electrical Outlets
The standard electrical voltage aboard ship is 220 volts. In the bathrooms, you will find a 110-volt AC outlet to accommodate most U.S. standard shavers. There are both 220-volt and 110-volt AC outlets in the suite/ stateroom beside the dressing table mirror. For safety reasons, travel irons are not permitted on board.
Elevators
There are two elevators located forward and two elevators located aft of the ship. Please note that the watersports marina and the Sun Deck on Deck 9 are not accessible via elevator.
Embarkation/Disembarkation
With your cruise documents, you will receive information regarding the boarding time for your cruise. We ask that our embarking guests not present themselves on board before the designated time, as early embarkation is not possible while the ship is being prepared for arrival. Complete disembarkation procedures will be outlined on board the vessel prior to arrival at the ship’s final destination. If you are planning independent transfers from the ship, please keep in mind that it could take up to two hours for the local authorities to clear the ship and allow guests to disembark.
Going Ashore
Once local authorities have cleared the ship, you are free to disembark. Whenever you leave the ship, please carry your boarding ID/key card with you, as this identification will ensure that you’ll get back on board quickly and easily.
Guest Relations Manager
To make special arrangements on board, please contact the Guest Relations Manager through the Reception Desk, located on Deck 4.
