ANNUAL FLOWERS

WHAT IS AN ANNUAL? Annual fl owers bloom the year they are planted. They will tolerate cool weather, but not frost . They generally live for only one season.

STARTING FLOWERS FROM SEED is a great winter hobby that pays dividends all summer. We include detailed growing instructions to help ensure your success.

❍ – SUN ◗ – PARTIAL SHADE ● – SHADE ✂ – CUTFLOWER Sow this variety directly in the garden when the soil is warm.

SYMBOLS and PLANTING CODES:

Start seed indoors 8 to 16 weeks before the last frost date for your area, then transplant outside after danger of frost.

(DS-SI) This variety may be sown directly in the garden, but for earlier bloom can be started indoors 4 to 8 weeks prior to planting outside after danger of frost has passed.

ANNUAL PLANTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SELECT VARIETIES, noted in blue under the seed prices. Those sold in packs of 3 or 6 will be shipped direct from our Michigan grower. The annuals offered in 4 inch pots (see pages 6 and 7) will be shipped from our Randolph growing facilities. Plants will be sent at the proper planting time for your area. We will not begin shipping annual plants until danger of frost has passed, usually early to mid-April.
