Rayborn adds: “After we completed all schematics by Labor Day 2011, we developed a ‘faster build’ construction schedule with 26 months of construction time to get it done for pre- season games in August 2014.We will meet that deadline in time for a 2August soccer match between the MLS San Jose Earthquakes and Seattle Sounders. In 2006, LEED was not discussed but we wanted sustainability, and 49ers management decided as we progressed to go for LEED Gold.”


Harvey concludes: “Camatic is installing all the seating and started in early October, and the main videoboards are underway. The overall project is now about 73% complete (early November)


and we’re on track for the fi nal push. Our Turner- Devcon team put together a plan in fall 2011 to get the stadium built and has not had to waver from it. We’ve had limited overtime and shift work and no rush to fi nish due to our great labour force. At nine months before opening we will fi nish on budget and on time.”


Looking ahead, the 49ers’ Hill says: “We’re looking forward to hosting Super Bowl L in 2016 and other major events in the future. The 49ers are proudest of the partnership built with the City, the Stadium Authority and other cities in the area.
