PANSTADIA & ARENA MANAGEMENT WINTER 2013/14
technicians screwed the two speakers together utilising the multiple M10 suspension points on the bottom of the 312CIMs that provided solid, secure mounting.
In order to make the system easy to move and connect, Tech Electronics turned the OPA-218-Subs upside down and instead of using the casters that normally come on the subs, they screwed large-diameter locking casters on the bottom of the cabinets. Turning the subwoofers upside down exposed two front-mounted CNC cut handles making it more comfortable for one person to easily move the rig. Having the longest facet of the sub facing downward made the stack much more stable.
The 312CIMs were permanently attached to the OPA-218-Subs using M10 screws and the amplifi er’s output was hooked directly to the input connector through its weather cover, making the
connections secure and tamper-proof. In addition to the 312CIM, a 5-RU metal rack was also attached on the top of the subwoofer. The 5-space rack holds the Powersoft K3 DSP (1 space) and it has two drawers for long AC cables and for XLR-type signal cables and accessories.
So – how does it sound? According to Tech Electronics’ Badamo:
“The system delivers everything that the Edward Jones Dome asked for. It has tremendous bandwidth, high output and shakes the building when it’s played. However, it’s not merely a dance system – it’s a system that gets tremendously loud, projects incredibly well, yet delivers all the sonic nuances of the music perfectly. We’ve used One Systems products for a number of applications and they always deliver the kind of sound that our clients demand, along with tremendous reliability.”

Badamo and his team spent a lot of time fi guring out the precise parts to use and to carefully integrate the acoustical and electronic components into a cohesive system. Although the system doesn’t require a lot of equalisation to smooth its output, the team from Tech Electronics used One Systems’ recommendations, some measurements and their own ears to extract the maximum performance.
Paul Finch, the front-of-house engineer at the Edward Jones Dome says “The One Systems speakers we’re using at the stadium really sound great – I like them a lot. As a matter of fact, I like them so much, I’d love to have a set for myself.”
The Edward Jones Dome is another in a long line of high-profi le sports venues and public spaces that use speakers from the One Systems, Inc. family for both indoor and outdoor applications
