one of the standard piggyback cars and whether you have realized it or not, you have seen these cars in use. While the ACF car is a late sixties model, the Atlas version of this car is based on the car as it appeared in 1973. The 1973 version holds two trailers but Atlas does also offer the more modern ver- sion which holds three trailers. Atlas is offering these cars in five road names and in two configurations. The double trailer configuration is of- fered in Erie Western, Providence & Worcester, Florida East Coast and Trailer Train. The triple trailer con- figuration is available decorated for TTX company. Each paint scheme has four individual road numbers. Undec- orated models of each configuration

are available as well. The first thing I did when I received these cars was to check them against prototype drawings. The cars dimen- sions are correct or so close that I am not concerned. One problem with N- scale flat cars of this type in the past has been the ride height. Atlas has cre- ated a model that rides at the correct height and that is clearly evident when you view the car at eye level. It would have been very easy for Atlas to com- promise on the ride height and take the easy route but fortunately for us, they didn’t. The car looks great riding on the rails.

The car comes with a small package of details that the modeler has to add. End ramps, multiple styles of trailer

An easy way to add weight to any model. TEMPLOW melts in hot water (158º to 190ºF). Won’t unsolder brass
