move which necessitated combining the large double windows into a single large window. I then added the two small win- dows to the left of the dock door and slid the double-hung windows down a little, thereby lengthening the left wall. Since I had no limits to the building length parallel to the track siding, I added several scale feet to the right side of the building, too, to further em- phasize the elongated feel Wayne’s original model had. In doing so, I was able to add a fourth tall window to the right side of the building.


The portion of the building that suf- fered the most because of my limited space was the depth of the building capped by the dormer roof. On Wayne’s original, the dormer roof ridgeline is


To get a weathered appearance a two-step technique was used. First, the siding was stained with a mixture of india ink and iso- propyl alcohol (left); then a drybrushing of Reefer White was applied (right).
