Reloop BeaTMIX

$249

HYPE Considering the low price there’s a decent amount of features as well as reasonable build quality and decent sound.

GRIPE The jog-wheels aren’t really

responsive enough for scratching.

Everything beginners need to get up and mixing in one box of tricks and possibly everything some folks will ever use, but DJs looking for truly professional level performance may be

disappointed. TECH

VERDICT7/10

pIoneeR DDJ wego

$399

HYPE Ultra portable and lightweight two-channel DJ controller with onboard soundcard and a great range of controls.

GRIPE Virtual DJ LE is the software that is shipped with

the controller which might not be the most popular choice among many DJs.

Aimed at the budget end of the market the DDJ-WeGo is bound to make a big splash and will more than give the Denon MC2000 or any other similarly priced two-channel controller a serious run for its money.

TECH VERDICT 8/10

novAtIon launChpaD S

$149

HYPE New high-powered LEDs, a Launchpad app for the iPad and FL Studio integration brings the Launchpad to the fore once again.

GRIPE The improvements are not

revolutionary and a few features such as velocity sensitivity are still missing.

The Launchpad S is the evolution of the original Launchpad and while the improvements are subtle they do bring a lot to the table in terms of overall functions especially considering the modest asking price.

FocusRIte ForTe

$749

HYPE High speed USB 2 connectivity, Focusrite’s famous pre-amps and four top quality plug-ins included in the price make this audio interface a serious contender.

Focusrite have an awesome reputation in the studio world and this audio interface is amazing value for money.

TECH VERDICT8.5/10 WInneR $99

HYPE Two stereo outputs plus a headphone output and a mic input with gain control.

GRIPE There is no volume control for the headphone output

level.

A budget soundcard that is perfect for use with a laptop when on the go. TECH VERDICT7.5/10

Apogee DueT2

RAne Sl 4

$899

HYPE A very high quality soundcard with dual USB connections so two DJs can use the same box at the same time.

GRIPE Expensive.

A feature-rich soundcard that can now be used on any DJing and production software and not just Serato Scratch Live.

TECH VERDICT9/10 nAtIve $649

HYPE Stunningly beautiful to look at and the world famous Apogee converters sound as good as the card looks.

InstRuments TraKTor auDIo a6 $299

HYPE Solid build quality that will withstand life on

the road, lots of inputs and outputs and a big knob on the top.

GRIPE There is little if anything to dislike about this

audio interface.

A DJ interface that will also be ideal for many musicians thanks to the six inputs and outputs with a lovely large main output volume control knob on the top to add the icing on the cake.

TECH VERDICT8.5/10

GRIPE This is an

eye-wateringly expensive audio interface for only two inputs and two outputs.

Beautifully crafted with the audio quality that has made Apogee famous, this is a lovely piece of equipment to own if your budget will

accommodate. TECH VERDICT 9/10
