MCS warranty available for ECA members
A new ECA-approved MCS warranty product for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) installations is now available online for all ECA members registered with the Microgeneration Certifi cation Scheme (MCS). As required by the
Renewable Energy Association Consumer Code of Practice, this new product off ers the customer protection on: Workmanship to the required standards and Deposit payment protection Key features of the MCS
warranty include: Meeting the requirements of the Renewable Energy Association Consumer Code Competitive industry pricing Simple online ‘quote and buy’ system, accessible via the ECA members’ area of
the ECA website Underwritten by the Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Company (ECIC). At present, it covers solar
PV technology only, but it will shortly be extended to cover other renewable technologies. To fi nd out more or to get

NEW DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS SERVICES
The ECA has created a new
directorate – director of Business Services – headed by Paul Reeve. Formerly head of Business Policy and Practice for the ECA, Reeve now steps up to consolidate the association’s policy direction across key areas, including technical, commercial and contracts, health and safety, energy and envi- ronment, and education and training. Reeve joined the ECA in 2002 in
the health and safety department, before expanding his expertise and becoming head of Safety and Environment in 2008. In both these positions he has taken the lead in supporting members and representing the industry to
