variety of designer and high street fashions all loved by the royal family and British public. Other fashion shows consist of the Vintage Picnic show, which will capture the essence of traditional English summer picnics and feature the very best in British daywear. Some designs will include tailored suits from some of Savile Row’s fi nest, checks and tweeds from the likes of Gieves & Hawkes and tailored dresses from the Royal Courtier Stewart Parvin. Homage will also be paid to the most famous suited British man James Bond provided by a variety of tailors including Henry Poole, providers of specialist tailoring to some of the most famous names in British history such as Charles Dickens and King Edward VII. Yet perhaps one of the most striking shows available to attendees is the Reinvention catwalk, which will feature something extra special for guests as the British motoring industry meets the world of fashion. T is innovative and awe inspiring show will celebrate 60 years of British design and technology exploring the concept of ethical fashion through recycling and reinvention. With items from the likes of Moët & Chandon, Jaguar Land Rover and Bentley, new garments will be composed such as that from London designer Joey Bevan who will showcase one of a kind dresses made from car parts, upholstery and fabrics. As well


as this there will be unique fashion pieces made from electrical wires and origami. T is unusual show will no doubt be a talking point amongst both fashion lovers and motoring enthusiasts in its bringing together of two very diff erent worlds. T e exploration of design and technology does not end with the Reinvention catwalk as Bentley will be displaying a collection of their most iconic vehicles from their vault. Amongst these vehicles will be the luxurious R-Type Continental, a car which was originally at its pinnacle during the coronation in 1953. As well as motoring will be a celebration of British technology including that from pioneers Roberts Radio Ltd, who will be celebrated in their technological achievements such as being the developers of the very fi rst DAB/ FM radio for the iPod. Hosting the best in cutting-edge technology from British motoring to digital products, the interactive features on display will provide an informative insight into technological and design progression from 1953 to present day. Yet this does not stop at present day as a fascinating look into the future of British technology will also be featured, showing what we may expect to see in the next 60 years of technological advances.

Of course an exploration of British


excellence would not be complete without a celebration of some of the greatest food and drink connoisseurs. In this sector of the celebrations, visitors can expect to sample and purchase some of the fi nest food and drink available, as well as watch expert chefs and food producers at work on the Tasting and Demonstrations stage. With hundreds of exhibitors also featuring home and gardens as well as style, pursuits and pastimes, this festival has something for everyone and is surely not to be missed. We here at Waterfront will certainly be wishing Her Majesty and the royal family a wonderful time and also will be keeping a keen eye on these staples of British excellence.
