Jones, chair of London Collections: Men. “T is is further proof that London really does
feel like the home of menswear, as designers from everywhere from Milan and Paris to Beijing and New York come here to show,” he added. While its sexy cuts have earned the brand its
cult reputation, retail development has been integral to Jimmy Choo’s strategy and global domination too. Part of Labelux GmbH, a privately held luxury goods group, the brand has over 150 stores in 32 countries and is present in the most prestigious department and specialty stores worldwide. Since opening its fi rst store on Motcomb Street
in London in 1996, it has become a key fi xture in New York City, LA, Rome, Paris and Tokyo. Its most recent opening has seen the brand expand its presence in Mayfair too, with a new men’s fl agship store located at 35, Dover Street. Replacing the brand’s existing men’s store in the nearby Burlington Arcade, the 1,200 sq ft opening off ers more space for the growing collection of men’s shoes, bags, belts, scarves and small leather goods. Spread across two fl oors in a historic Georgian building, it also refl ects the global design concept for the men’s collection. A masculine colour scheme of black, charcoal and silver is executed in marble, leather, velvet, felt and tweed fi xtures and fi ttings. Highlights include a marble topped, antique mirror edged working bar located on the lower ground fl oor. “We are thrilled to have opened a new
men’s fl agship store in Mayfair, the spiritual home of the Jimmy Choo man,” said Pierre Denis, CEO. “Dover Street is fast becoming a shopping destination for luxury fashion and cutting edge designers. T e store is an exciting next step in the growth of Jimmy Choo Men.” In addition to this, autumn/winter 2013 sees

exciting to be showing our men’s collection as part of London Collections: Men. London is at the creative heart of Jimmy Choo and with our new fl agship men’s store opening on Dover Street the timing feels right to make the move.” “Having Jimmy Choo move their men’s

the Jimmy Choo men’s collection diversify, off ering styles, from shoes and boots to high tops and hybrid silhouettes, for the cool, urban man. While maintaining the collection’s ‘confi dent, overtly masculine style with a refi ned sense of detail’, the brand presents an entire footwear wardrobe for going out, going to work, working it, or just hanging out. Drawing inspiration from early ‘80s New York, the new wave, infl uenced by punk and glam rock, are key references. Sandra Choi concludes: “We were
channeling an early ‘80s dandyism with infl uences ranging from preppy to military to street style.”
