Playing a key role in town hall upgrade
Marshall-Tufflex’s Twin Plus, a cable management system capable of handling a wide variety and large quantity of power and data cabling, has been installed in the £6m refurbishment of Barnsley’s landmark Town Hall. The four storey 1930s Town Hall houses newly refurbished office accommodation, meeting rooms, the council chamber and a local history museum and archive centre. A flexible trunk- ing system was therefore needed for services such as tele- phones, IT equipment, fire and burglar alarms, CCTV, door access and security systems
which required differing amounts of power and data pro- vision. Rather than install sev- eral different sized trunking systems, Cat 6 compliant Twin Plus, an all in one cable man- agement system, was specified. Paul Derbyshire of NPS Barnsley, the electrical and mechanical engineers that installed the Twin Plus, com- mented, “We fitted hundreds of metres of trunking. If we’d had to install two or more dif- ferent sized trunking systems it would have been far more complicated. Marshall- Tufflex’s product was chosen for its flexibility. It has gone in everywhere at ceiling height and down walls to sockets as required. Twin Plus passed aesthetically as well as func- tionally and we had no prob- lems installing it.” Marshall-Tufflex
