Products Hazardous Area Equipment Valve controller for extreme demands
Emerson Process Management’s Fisher FIELDVUE DVC6205 remote mount digital valve con- troller is well suited for applica- tions in which accessibility, extreme temperatures (up to 120°C / 250°F), extreme vibration or confined space make integral mounting difficult or impractical. Industries such as pulp and paper and nuclear power have typically preferred to isolate valve mounted instruments from harsh environments. With the DVC6205, only the valve position feedback is mounted on the control valve, while the remain- der of the digital valve controller can be mounted over 90m away in a
less severe or more accessible environment.
The remote valve mounted feedback unit utilises the patented FIELDVUE linkage- less, non-contact feedback tech- nology in which physical contact has been eliminated between the valve stem and the instrument. With no linkage to wear, loosen, corrode or vibrate, the feedback unit can withstand a plant’s operating extremes. The DVC6200 series is offered with CSA, IECEx, ATEX and FM hazardous area approvals as well as other certifica- tions/approvals. It is also listed in the Lloyd’s Register for industrial, marine and off- shore use. Emerson

New switches help enhance flexibility
Turck Banner has extended its in-cabinet Ethernet switches with a new multi-mode fibre optic port unit for reliable, fast perfor- mance in process and factory automation environments requiring conversion from fibre to copper media. The complete product line has also been
approved for use in hazardous locations per UL and ATEX ratings. These IP20 rated Ethernet switches conform to all necessary IEEE standards and support a range of Ethernet protocols including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFINET. In-cabinet Ethernet switches are available in small expansion 5- to 8-port unmanaged configurations and 8-port managed options. All models contain RJ45 sockets for fieldbus connection and removable ter- minals for power. Operators can also employ the fibre copper converter to effi- ciently convey data from standard devices over great distances not possible with cop- per. This enables an Ethernet solution for
Conduit to match a host of application needs
The Kopex-Ex range of conduits and fittings for use in potentially explosive environments include liquid tight and nylon conduit systems, together with a full range of connector adapters, reducers and enlargers. In addition, the XP-Flexible Coupling Range features UL Listed Class I Div Explosion Proof products.
Kopex-Ex offer a wide range of electrical conduit sys- tems for use within hazardous areas. They are designed to protect and connect critical power and data cabling in many different industries, including oil and gas, mining, pharmaceutical and food produc- tion. These industries are all bound by global or national legislation including ATEX, UL, IECeX, GOST and CSA.
All products are engineered to include the criti- cal properties needed to withstand the most demanding of operational environments. Key per- formance characteristics include the ability to offer resistance to the ingress from water, damage from oils and chemicals as well as the ability to withstand continuous vibration. Anti-corrosion properties, specific fire performance and EMI screening capabilities are included too. Kopex-Ex

in excess of ten years without any maintenance in line with industry’s preferred fit and forget requirements. In addition, power consumption of the new floodlights is approximately 40% of traditional equivalent, with varying beam patterns ensuring the light only goes where it’s designed to go rather than being wasted.
A-Belco Group’s Hadar Lighting Division offers its HDL106 LED (pictured), an Ex e LED floodlight certified through Sira for both ATEX and IECEx applications. Since they were introduced to the market in 2010 the lights have become the standard for many drilling operators and oil companies. The lights produce purer light, weigh less, last longer than traditional sodium or halogen equivalents, have no warm up period, produce very little heat and have an expected lifespan

In addition, the A-Belco Hazardous Area division provides both standard and bespoke products for Hazardous Area Zones 1, 2, 21 & 22, Gas and Dust. Products include Flameproof Junction Boxes, Control Panels, Control Stations, Lighting, Plugs and Receptacles, Switches, Circuit Breakers and Cable Glands, all designed and manufactured within internationally recognised pro- tection concepts. All products are built to harmonise with European Standards and the flame-proof enclosures are certified in conformance with A-Belco’s own QAN to ensure complete ATEX compliance. The equipment is independently certified by various UK and European Notified Bodies. A-Belco Group

Floodlights for the industrial sector
Designed for hazardous areas typi- cally encountered in a number of industrial sectors, Thomas & Betts has introduced its DTS range of ATEX floodlights. The new offer- ings can be combined with other DTS lighting solutions including Ex e, Ex d lighting products, Exe and Exd enclosures and boxes, emergency and escape lighting to provide full lighting schemes across a complete site.
The range is manufactured from an aluminium alloy to make them corrosion resistant and a range of lamp choices are available includ- ing sodium and metal halide. There is also a range of fixings to allow mounting onto many types of structure including poles. The DTS floodlights are manu- factured to be used in Ex d classi- fied applications and also have an Ex e integral junction box. They have ATEX Compliant Certification with a range of approvals depend- ing upon specific versions and including EN 60079. Thomas & Betts
