CBRN detection concept from Saab

Defence and security company Saab off ers an automatic warning and reporting concept in CBRN detection, designed for use by non-specialists in the fi eld.

T

he Saab Automatic Warning and Reporting System (AWR) is a fl exible, modular and future proof solution. It can be soldier or vehicle mounted as well as in a fi xed installation. The AWR consists of both hardware and soſt ware and is designed to

provide early warnings to units and personnel on the battlefi eld. The system helps the operator to make fast and accurate decisions, which is a key factor in limiting CBRN threats. “The AWR is a highly fl exible force protection capability spanning over a wide area; and following the vehicle or the soldier wherever they operate. The fl exible solution allows users to use sensors of their own choice, change instruments pending on changes in threats scenarios, or replace instruments with a newer version if needed”, says Nils-Erik Lindblom, Director of Marketing and Sales for CBRN at Saab´s Business Area Support and Services.

The AWR is also suitable for civil use to protect personnel

operating in hazardous and toxic environments, such as in the Oil & Gas, Chemical and Nuclear industries. ❚❙

SAAB AUTOMATIC WARNING AND REPORTING FUTURE-PROOF CBRN DETECTION

Supporting and protecting your troops are primary concerns in all operations. With Saab’s Automatic Warning and Reporting (AWR) solution you can provide early warnings to units and personnel in the battlefield.

With Saab’s AWR you can use virtually any type of sensor – meteorological, chemical, biological, radiological, positioning or video, to mention some –from any manufacturer. The mobile unit can carry up to eight different sensors.

The system’s modularity and open architecture allow users to change sensor configuration over time in response to current threats. The mobile unit and the equipment carried by soldiers are fully integrated – with each other and with your existing equipment. And that’s what makes the solution future-proof.
