Best of both worlds

Convention centre and neighbouring hotel combine to showcase their offerings as South Wharf Meetings & Events.

Nearly 60 guests were given a special insight into South Wharf Meetings & Events’ latest offerings at an Executive PA Magazine reader event in Melbourne. Being showcased on the evening were Melbourne Convention

& Exhibition Centre and Hilton Melbourne South Wharf, which seamlessly combine as SWME – an innovative meeting place for small to medium-sized events. Guests had an interactive tour of the convention centre’s

meeting spaces and plenary space followed by canapés, then headed by an internal link to the hotel for a sneak peek of its five-star rooms. To end the evening, the guests had drinks and a barbecue in

the Executive Lounge with its view of the city skyline. SWME revealed its new day-delegate package and introductory

competition. Amber Stanley flew in from Brisbane to represent Executive PA Magazine at the event.

Here’s what our readers have to say... I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was most interesting to

learn about the options available at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, from smaller meetings to the enormous. I asked what the chairs were made of and was told rubber tyres – amazing. Hilton South Wharf is a first-class hotel with spectacular city views and a quiet, refined atmosphere. Helen Falkingham, EA, IBSA.

50 APR/MAY 2013 I WWW.EXECUTIVEPA.COM.AU It was a wonderful event, and an absolute pleasure to see

both MCEC and Hilton South Wharf in such style. Shelley Hunter, PA, Capgemini Australia.

From the MCEC story told to us on the big screen, then a

guided tour of the extraordinary spaces to hold our meetings and events, through to the stunning rooms with a view at Hilton Melbourne South Wharf, it was a fantastic night. After our preview, to top it all off, we enjoyed great company and hospitality with a barbecue and drinks. The teams from both the convention centre and the hotel were fabulous and informative. Sam Macri, EA, Maxxia.

The convention centre was fantastic, with the hosts putting

on a wonderful event to showcase their venue, food, wine and entertainment. The Hilton was amazing. It was a great opportunity to view both these properties and to see the variety available for both small and large organisations. Athena Wicks, PA, Productivity Commission.

The reader event was an evening of helpful background

information, new ideas and catching up with colleagues. The Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre impressed as usual and the Hilton was a pleasant surprise.
