RYDGES SYDNEY AIRPORT HOTEL Sydney’s only on-site airport hotel, Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel, is set to open at the international terminal in May. The 4.5-star, 318-room property is set over 11 floors and will have 11 event spaces, including the rooftop.
SHERATON NEW CALEDONIA DEVA GOLF RESORT & SPA A sister property for Le Méridien Noumea, the new Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Golf Resort & Spa is two hours from Noumea and has 180 guest rooms, including 60 bungalows, a business centre and more than 490sq.m. of meeting space.
SALAMANCA WHARF HOTEL, HOBART Hobart’s new boutique Salamanca Wharf Hotel offers 22 apartments comprising four loft penthouses, 15 one bedroom apartments and three studio apartments.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL SYDNEY Four residential meetings suites created by award-winning designer Michael McCann have opened at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. It is a transformation of the entire level-two space overlooking the atrium lobby (formerly Kable’s restaurant) and offers two private dining rooms. The main space can be divided into three with soundproof dividers, and The Residential Suite can take up to 120 guests.
RYDGES WORLD SQUARE, SYDNEY In Sydney, Rydges World Square has doubled its meetings offering with a new 600sq.m. space catering for 500 delegates. It features floor-to- ceiling double-glazed windows and surrounds a glass atrium that overlooks World Square shopping complex.
SKYCITY DARWIN SkyCity Darwin in WA has introduced a permanent air-conditioned structure, the Beachside Pavilion, which can cater for up to 500 banquet guests. A glass wall and veranda area open out to the beach. A new second-floor bar with waterfront views, Lotus, can be used for exclusive cocktail parties.
CABLE BEACH CLUB RESORT & SPA, BROOME Broome’s Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa on Australia’s west coast has a new outdoor venue. The Okari Deck is next to Sunset Bar & Grill with views over the Indian Ocean and Cable Beach. It is ideal for sunset cocktails for groups of up to 70 guests.

PEPPERS CRADLE MOUNTAIN LODGE, TASMANIA Award-winning Cradle Mountain Lodge in the north of Tasmania has been renamed Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge. At the entrance to World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, the award- winning property has 86 guest cabins and conferencing space for up to 90 guests.
PULLMAN MELBOURNE ALBERT PARK A multi-million-dollar refurbishment is in store for
the Sebel Albert Park Melbourne, which has been rebranded Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, while the adjoining Citigate hotel will rebrand to Mercure. Parts of the Pullman conference spaces will be redesigned while the 169 tower guest rooms will have a makeover. The new business centre and connectivity lounge will be set up just off the redesigned lobby.
REVIVALS
HERITAGE CHRISTCHURCH, NZ Opening in 1996 and surviving the 2011 earthquake with only minor structural damage, Heritage Christchurch’s Old Government Building wing is re-opening in New Zealand. It houses the hotel’s luxury suites and F&B amenities and has been behind the red-zone cordon for two years while being restored.
CASTAWAY ISLAND, FIJI Forced to temporarily close as a result of damage by Severe Tropical Cyclone Evan in December, Castaway Island resort in Fiji has reopened. All staff were retained during the closure, working on restoration.
