Fishing Derby Sponsored by Babich and Associates Financial Services, Inc.
The Downers Grove Park District, in cooperation with the Village of Downers Grove, presents this annual run through the scenic residential streets of Downers Grove. A CARA Runner’s Choice Circuit Race, this USATF certified, 5-mile, rolling course, is well marked and monitored and includes two water stations. The first 500 registrants receive a technical racing shirt. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, call 630.963.1300. Due to scheduled road repairs an adjusted course is planned.
Entry forms are available online, at
www.active.com, at the Lincoln Center and the Recreation Center. The deadline for pre-race registration is Tuesday, June 18 at 4:00 p.m. All entry forms are non-refundable.
Race Packet Pick-up
Race packets for pre-registered runners will be available Friday, June 21 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 22 from 9:00 a.m. - noon at the Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Rd. Runners who wish to pick up their packet on Friday or Saturday must register by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18.

Reel in three hours of family fun at the Annual Fishing Derby. Prizes are awarded for the shortest and the longest fish caught by each age level. The Downers Grove Moose Rod and Gun Club and the Downers Grove Park District co-sponsor this annual event. A fishing license is required for participants 16 years and up. Licenses can be purchased at Bass Pro Shop, Wal-Mart or Sports Authority. Register at Barth Pond on the day of the derby.

Outdoor Flea Market
This popular outdoor market plays host to over 100 vendors – from crafts and antiques to baby clothes and collectibles. Vendor registration fees allow a 10’ x 10’ space on a first-come, first-served basis beginning May 21 for residents and June 4 for non-residents. Find a map of currently available spaces at the Lincoln Center. Detailed information is mailed to vendors two weeks prior to the event. Rain date is September 14.

NEW! Join us for a day of chili, live music, a beer garden and fun for the entire family! This International Chili Society sanctioned, home-style chili competition attracts competitors from throughout the state of Illinois as well as nationally. The winner of this cook-off earns prizes and an automatic bid to the ICS World Championships in Palm Springs, California. Vote for your favorite chili in the people’s choice competition taking place at 2:00 p.m.
