Freelance photographer Kirk Lawler will be on hand for this two-hour introduction to the world of digital photography. “How to” topics will include how to use scene modes, basic composition, taking great people pictures, special tips for photographing children and photo editing with Adobe Elements. No previous experience with cameras is required to enjoy this workshop. Most participants use compact cameras, but entry level dSLR owners will also benefit from the discussions.

How to Shop for and Get the Most Out of dSLR Camera Lenses
Still using the kit lens that came with your dSLR camera? Chances are good that it is compromising the quality of your photographs. In this intermediate level seminar participants will learn how to find the best deals in high-grade glass, how to optimize lens performance, and how aperture, focal length and shutter speed can be manipulated to turn ordinary images into works of art. Not recommended for beginners.

Hunter Safety Education
State-certified volunteer educators teach the basics of safe hunting, including hunter responsibility, wildlife management, firearm, ammunition and archery safety, first aid and survival techniques. Passing a Hunter Safety class is required for anyone born on or after January 1, 1980 who wants an Illinois hunting license. This course also meets the requirements for adult hunters in many other states. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16. Participants must attend all classroom sessions and pass a written exam to receive a certificate. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their children.
