Family Programs Goodnight Twilight Hikes


Explore Lyman Woods at night! Hike the trails with a knowledgeable naturalist to explore the nighttime sky, search for nocturnal critters and listen to the sounds of the woods at night. End the evening sharing stories around a roaring campfire complete with marshmallow roasting! In case of inclement weather, portions of the program may be held indoors. Please list the number and ages of people in your family when you register.

Sibling Program Big Bug, Little Bug


Hey Big Bugs! Bring your favorite Little Bugs out to Lyman Woods for a nature adventure to learn about the animals and plants in the forest. An adult and two siblings enjoy a story, craft and a hike together. Each session is a new nature topic, so sign up for all three! We will be getting messy while exploring. This class is designed for an older child, a younger child and an adult.

Splish Splash Pond Make a splash at Lyman Woods while you discover the animals that splish and splash in ponds. Search for turtles and ducks, listen for frogs and toads, and watch the water for dragonflies and minnows. Take a dip into the pond and see what critters you can find in your net! Dress to get wet and messy.

Did you know that rabbits eat their own poop? Or that spiders liquefy their prey and then slurp them up? Come on a nasty nature safari as we search for scat, watch for whitewashing and discover even more disgusting facts about nature.

All new adventures! Join us at Lyman Woods for exciting summer day (and night!) camps for kids. Summer camps at Lyman Woods are packed with outdoor adventures, crafts, games and more! Each camp is taught by a Natural Areas Instructor and is designed to encourage play in nature while introducing age-appropriate nature and science concepts. All camps meet at the William F.
