ctober, 1965. I was just begin- ning my junior year in high school. Model railroading was not a huge part of my life that year, but I did read the occasional issue of RAIL- ROAD MODEL CRAFTSMAN, having pur- chased my first copy a couple of years earlier. I had a 4′×8′ layout of sorts and even then was experimenting with scratchbuilding. Fast forward a lot of years. At a train show a couple of years back I pur- chased some old issues of RMC but had never gotten around to reading them. Recently I picked up the October, 1965, issue and there, on pages 32 and 33, was a brief article, complete with plans in HO and O scales, of a parts shed then located in the Boston & Maine yard at Salem, Massachusetts. The author of this article was James D. Frary. Now this, of course, is the
