Pharmacy Te St. Alexius Medical Center pharmacy is staffed 24 hours a day by registered pharmacists and support staff trained in hospital pharmaceutical care. Tey work closely with the medical staff to monitor your drug therapy throughout your hospital stay.
Procedure Clinic Te Procedure Clinic is a unit designated for outpatients undergoing procedures who will require several hours of observation aſter the procedure but will not require an overnight stay.
Rehabilitation Services Te Rehabilitation Department consists of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Patients who require inpatient rehabilitation may be transferred to the rehabilitation unit at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, which is operated by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, or a facility determined by you and your physician. Outpatient rehabilitation therapy is
provided at the Alexian Medical Mall, located at 347 W. Golf Road (in Golf Point Plaza) in Schaumburg. Physical therapy oſten shortens the
patient’s hospitalization and helps people lead more active and independent lives. Occupational Terapy consists of
education, exercises and therapeutic activities designed to increase strength, functional joint motion, endurance, perceptual motor functions and fine
motor skills, and to enhance skills in activities of daily life. Speech-Language Pathology provides
evaluation and treatment of speech, language and cognitive communication skills in infants through adults. Audiology treatment includes assistive
devices such as hearing aids, lip-reading, and patient/family education on home/ work environment to facilitate hearing.
Respiratory Care Various diagnostic and therapeutic techniques are employed by licensed respiratory care practitioners to treat existing respiratory conditions and to help prevent respiratory complications following surgery. Tese physicians are not employees or agents of the hospital and may bill separately for their services.
Surgery Your physician, anesthesiologist and members of the surgery nursing staff will explain in advance what you may expect as procedures and preparations vary with different operations. Te anesthesiologists are not employees or agents of the hospital and will bill separately for their services. Our DaySurgery provides preoperative
and postoperative care for outpatients. A waiting room for family members and visitors of patients in surgery is located on the first floor. Limited visitors are permitted in the DaySurgery unit. Pre-op Testing Center (POTC) is
located on the first floor. Te necessary pre-surgical testing, such as lab, EKG, etc. and preparation instructions are provided for surgical patients in one appointment prior to the surgery. Endoscopy Center (GI Lab) staff
assists physicians in performing all en- doscopy and bronchoscopy procedures.
