Your Healthcare Team


The Medical Staff Your physician and other healthcare professionals will work with you and your family in an effort to meet your medical needs. Your attending physician is responsible for the direction and supervision of your medical care. Hospital nurses, dietitians, technicians and other specialists will work with your attending physician to provide you with quality, personalized care.


The Nursing Staff Nursing care is provided by a team of professional registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), patient care technicians (PCTs) and certified nurse assistants (CNAs). A nursing director is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care on each unit. Please feel free to contact your nurse or the director if you have questions or concerns.


Pastoral Care Services Te Department of Mission Integration and its Center for Spiritual Care at St. Alexius Medical Center provides for the spiritual and emotional support of our patients and their families, regardless of denominational affiliation or faith tradition. Our chaplains are available to you and your family 24 hours a day during your hospital stay and may be contacted by your nurse.


Transition Resource Management Care coordination managers, transition specialist-social workers, and utilization review specialists work in close collaboration with your physician, health care team, and your insurance company to coordinate care during your stay and to plan for your discharge from the hospital. Our care coordination managers/transition specialists-social workers can help arrange the following services to make sure that you have the


care that best meets your needs: n Home healthcare n Skilled nursing home placement n Medical equipment & supplies n Community resources n Rehabilitation n Hospice n Counseling

Volunteers Many thoughtful volunteers give their time and efforts to assist patients and visitors. Tey also contribute to making your stay as comfortable as possible. If volunteers can be of assistance to you, please call the Volunteer Service Department at extension 8622.


Other Personnel During your stay, you may be visited by many other healthcare professionals, including personnel from the laboratory and radiology departments and physical or occupational therapists.
