Who Can Benefit: n Tose who have been diagnosed with a complex, serious illness who wish relief from symptoms related to the disease
n Tose who need to make decisions about how to proceed with care and treatment
n Tose who have had multiple hospitalizations or Emergency Department visits over the previous year

How is Palliative Care Paid For? n Clarify with the Palliative Care team

St. Alexius Hospice Our hospice program specifically serves the people in our community who have been identified as terminally ill. St. Alexius Hospice continues the mission of the Alexian Brothers Health System by identifying and developing effective responses to the health needs of those we are called to serve. Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit Te intensive care and coronary units (ICU/CCU) treat patients who require more specialized nursing care and closer ob- servation. Located on the third floor, these areas are staffed by nurses and other profes- sional personnel who are trained to meet the special needs of critically ill patients.
Laboratory Te laboratory is staffed with trained clerical personnel, phlebotomists, certified medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, histologists and cytologists who work under the direction of licensed, board-certified pathologists. Te pathologists are not employees or agents of the hospital and you may be billed separately for their services. A satellite draw station is available at the Alexian Medical Plaza,
