NEWS UNITED KINGDOM Invision backs a winner
UK DISTRIBUTOR Invision is celebrating the success of its inaugural Home Technology Showcase. Held over two days in May, the event welcomed visitors from the UK and further afield who had the opportunity to view the latest technology from the likes of Aquavision, LG, Wyrestorm and RTI in the surrounds of Epsom Downs Racecourse. Bathroom TV manufacturer
Aquavision showed its new surface mount unit which sits 50mm proud from the wall. It is available in 19in and 26in versions in white, black or mirrorvision – where if the TV is turned off it takes on the appearance of a dark tinted mirror. Designed with the professional installer in mind, all models have RS-232 control, Sky eye and a selection of discrete infrared codes.
Elan g! highlighted a number of control products for residential and light commercial environments. Of note was the g! system, which features touchscreens, hand controllers and WiFi remotes to control climate, security systems, lighting, video and more. Wyrestorm focused on new additions to its Pro Plus range including an 8 x 8 matrix. Using the latest second-generation HDBaseT platform, the matrix provides single cable transmission of HD audio, HD video, two-way IR and RS-232 from a centralised AV location to displays located up to 70m
LG’s 85in Ultra-HD TV drew the crowds
away using unshielded or shielded Cat5e/Cat6 cable. Over on the RTI stand, Pete
Baker, vice president of sales and marketing at the company, was on hand to show its RTiPanel application that allows users to have full control and monitor electronics from
smartphones and tablet devices. Providing secure local or remote access to an RTI XP series control processor from any internet connection, the RTiPanel allows for LAN control via WiFi and WAN control off site. Users can view and adjust thermostats, monitor security systems and turn off lights, in addition to controlling AV electronics, from any location. Of the event itself, Baker said: “The show’s been fantastic. I think we’ve had a great turnout and a very good selection of dealers who are either new to RTI or looking for a new control
system. I think the dealers have been very responsive; very interested in checking out what we have to offer. Overall it’s been a fantastic event, and I’d like to thank Invision for putting it on.” In the home cinema demo
room, JVC showcased its X55 super high-definition 4K projector with e-shift 2 Technology. JVC’s original e-shift technology makes it possible to shift each pixel diagonally by 0.5 pixels to multiply the resolution and achieve 4K technology. e-shift 2 boasts a new high- performance 4K scaling engine to reproduce Full HD images with maximum definition and convert them to even higher-quality 4K resolution images. Adrian Summers of Invision
Express, who conducted the demos, said: "It’s been really good. I loved demoing the JVC X55 in the JVC cinema room, and we demoed to scores of top installers over the two
days – which equates to months and months working out in the field!” “It's been a fantastic couple
of days; an unprecedented success, I feel,” concluded Mark Taylor, business manager, Invision UK, as the event drew to a close. “It completely exceeded our expectations. We were delighted with the turnout from our dealer base and really grateful for the support
of our manufacturers who helped to make this event the success it was. I would like to think that this is just the beginning of something special.” To view product demos and additional material from the event, download the InstallationiPad app from the app store or visit
