SHOW PREVIEW: INFOCOMM 2013 InfoComm 2013 will also
showcase emerging AV products and best practices in the hospitality sector. “Top- quality, reliable audiovisual systems are a must-have for the hospitality manager,” says David Labuskes, executive director and CEO of InfoComm International, “and InfoComm 2013 is the place to see the latest gear and get the necessary training to satisfy demanding clients.”

On the showfloor, the new Ashly nX family of Class D amplifiers will be launched in Orlando. Delivering up to 12,000W of clean power while drawing less than 1W in sleep mode, nX amplifiers are offered in four- or two-channel
versions with selectable high- Z (70/100V) or low-Z output on each channel. nX model variants include the addition of Ethernet control, and onboard Protea DSP with load monitoring, to meet the requirements of modern fixed installation and live sound applications. Barix heads to InfoComm with the Annuncicom PS1 – a new IP paging solution that allows end users and systems integrators to set up multi-point systems quickly. The plug-and-play solution combines fixed and mobile paging to extend reach and capability, while removing configuration hassles typically associated with IP. This ensures facilities can be up and running quickly instead of configuring IP addresses, servers and ports for receiving devices.
Dedicated Barix Paging
firmware
enables the paging master to automatically identify all zones and Barix IP hardware on the network, including other paging stations and receivers. Furthermore, a Barix iOS paging app enables iPhones and iPads as paging devices – cleanly integrating the mobile capability into the overall solution. Bosch will present its new DCN multimedia conference system and the PLENA matrix Digital Sound System. The DCN utilises IP-based OMNEO media networking architecture (see Interview, page 14) and user-friendly touchscreen conference devices for participants using a version of the Android operating system. The PLENA matrix system delivers full- featured digital audio control, along with new features such as an intuitive graphical user interface, a DSP processor, two types of four-channel Class D amplifiers, a call station and a wall panel. Up to eight zones can be addressed with different announcements, music or live speech, and can be controlled wirelessly via an iPad, iPod or iPhone. Cadac is showing its
current range of audio mixing consoles, including its latest analogue and digital models, and network expansion
options featuring the proprietary high-speed Megacomms network protocol. Live product demonstrations will feature the CDC8 and CDC Four digital mix systems and include the CDC8-32 and ultra-compact CDC8-16 frame size consoles – offering
identical 128
channel I/Os, functionality and processing capabilities – the CDC8-16S expansion sidecar, connectable with a single Ethernet cable and providing 16 additional faders and HD touchscreen control surface, and the CDC 32/16 and 64/48 I/O Megacomms expansion racks. Other products exhibited on the stand will include the LIVE1 compact analogue console series and mid to large-scale S-Type, a classic Cadac analogue console offering flexibility and custom options in terms of I/Os, channel strips, groups, VCAs and frame sizes. A Cadac S-Type console will also be running demonstrations in the KV2 Audio listening booth. Clear-Com will launch the enhanced HelixNet Partyline intercom system. The new

version will include a multi- system linking capability to deliver a cost-effective intercom solution for accessing up to 20 digital partyline channels, five programme audio feeds and 100 digital beltpacks. Enabling this capability are two new modules: the HLI-ET2 Ethernet Module, for main station-to-main station networking over fibre or a LAN, and the HLI-FBS Fiber Module, for daisy-chaining fibre interfaces to link main stations over long distances.
