UNITED KINGDOM NEC Display Solutions’ Showcase is the biggest yet

NEC DISPLAY Solutions’ fifth annual Showcase, which took place on 16 May at Tobacco Dock in east London, was the largest ever, drawing more than 1,000 people. This makes it one of the largest pro-AV events in the UK. Fifty-two partners

presented their technologies, alongside NEC display technology, in themed zones covering healthcare, media, corporate communications, transport, education, retail, DOOH and leisure. Manufacturer partners included AMX, Crestron, Chief, LifeSize, Onelan, Peerless, SMART Technologies and U- Touch. Many of the featured

solutions contained equipment from multiple partners: for instance, the live streaming with annotation solution in the education zone featured kit from DisplayLite, Exterity, Extron, Humanscale, LifeSize and SMS. Event highlights included a full 4K workflow, courtesy of Jaegerfilm: a dance troupe was filmed on a 5K Red Epic camera, edited and then rendered to 4K for playback on a 4K videowall and NEC’s new 4K laser projector. “The dancers helped to add a bit of theatre while educating at the same time,” said Simon Jackson, vice president of NEC Display Solutions.

Other attractions were live demonstrations of NEC technologies, live tours of the solution zones and the DailyDOOH Thought Leadership Summit.

Jackson told Installation that one option being considered for next year is to hold the event over two days. www.showcase-nec.com
