The stylish furniture incorporates a display mount, which can hold either one or two displays. To enable mounting in a

variety of orientations, the system uses Connect-It interface bars (available in

four sizes), which attach to the stem of the furniture, and Connect-It display strips, which attach to the rear of the display and to the interface bar. To create the extra width necessary to hold two landscape displays side- by-side, two interface bars can be joined together using the interface bar coupler. Further design features include the front aluminium panel, which can be easily removed to allow access to the interior, where a codec

and other peripheral equipment can be housed. Vogel’s has also developed a loudspeaker specifically for this furniture, the PFA 9111. The 2 x 25W device comes as a result of collaboration with a specialised loudspeaker manufacturer. It contains four 2in drivers with patent technology that provides 100% in-phase sound. The company says that this enables the speaker to deliver clear vocal sounds from its position on the PFA 9110

Convene from Saville AV is a dedicated telepresence and videoconferencing managed service that the company says has been created in response to the daily challenges faced by companies of all sizes. Convene is a hosted

managed service which can act as an extension to users’ existing communication environment, providing

bridging services for video and audio calls. Alternatively the service can allow remote workers to communicate with each other via video. Multiple connectivity options are available, depending on the client’s requirements and in-house capability. For instance, the business can connect to the Convene data centre via the public internet; this is

typically suited to organisations with a smaller number of systems. Another option is a dedicated video network, which takes some of the onus off the company’s own data network and security for larger systems. Under the third option, the private network, Convene connects to systems within a company’s firewall-protected network

using Saville’s own secure firewall traversal solution. Services available on

Convene include virtual meeting rooms, which allow users to meet with colleagues 24/7 without pre-booking; and PC and/or laptop and mobile video clients, which enable seamless visual communication back to the office, or to mobile/home workers for collaboration

camera/loudspeaker holder. The PFA 9110 can be positioned above or below the display and can also be positioned off-centre. As the unit neatly contains

everything necessary to deliver the technology needed for videoconferencing, the cabinet-style furniture is available with wheeled options so that it can be deployed in multiple locations in a building. www.vogels.com
