INTRODUCTION TOMORROW’S FLOORING

After months of deliberation, the top 50 products of the last 12 months have been chosen...

We are proud and very excited to announce the return of the Tomorrow’s Flooring Product Awards, which celebrates our chosen top products from the entire flooring industry over the past year.

As the leading online flooring magazine, we see our fair share of exciting and innovative products day- in, day-out, both old and new. Last year, we decided that these products deserved recognition, and the Tomorrow’s Flooring Product Awards were formed; recognising excellence in what seems to be an increasingly

challenging and competitive market. And after such a fantastic response, we didn’t hesitate in bringing this back for 2013.

The Tomorrow’s Flooring panel, after months of deliberation, managed to whittle down the selection to just 50 products that have really impressed us this year, and we have provided you with an easy-to-read guide that features extra detail about the innovation and benefits of each one. All products are listed alphabetically, there is a link to each relevant website and, where possible, Twitter

account at the end of each entry, should you wish to research that product or company further.

When making our selection, we looked at various qualities such as innovation, sustainability, ease-of- use and effectiveness, and we think you’ll be impressed with the array of products we chose. From adhesives to wooden flooring, we think we’ve covered the flooring industry from top to bottom, and we hope you will refer to this guide over the course of 2013 whenever you need inspiration for products you need.

Eve Douglas

As Editor of Tomorrow’s Flooring, Eve has seen many new product launches and innovations in the flooring industry over the last 12 months – and was keen to get started on another guide for the best 50. Her personal interest is in sustainability, meaning products with good eco-credentials such as being easy to recycle feature a lot. She is also a huge fan of thinking outside the box, meaning some quirky and interesting products have made their way on to the list too.

Charlotte Taylor

Charlotte edits one of our sister publications, Tomorrow’s Cleaning, and so focused on floorcoverings that were easy to clean and maintain, whilst still being aesthetically pleasing. Charlotte also edits our Tomorrow’s Health & Safety title, meaning she was also on the lookout for products with superior anti-slip properties as well.

Tim Wood

Working mainly on Tomorrow’s FM – Tim is a huge fan of technology; something the facilities management sector knows a lot about. Tim was focusing on innovation at its best and favoured products that were unusual and interesting alternatives to more traditional ones.
