Known for their systems offering Lipomassage and Endermolift sessions, LPG has grown over time froma company first providing health professionals with amassage solution to offering beauty professionals both body and face treatments.We take a look at how the brand has developed over the years.


The LPG brand first arrived in the UK back in 1997 with the CELLU M6, a system featuring roll and lift treatment heads to contour the body and replenish the face


However, it originates right back to 1986 where it was developed in France when the founder, Louis-Paul Guitay (hence the name of the company – LPG), had an accident and developed the system for physiotherapy benefits rather than beauty.

physiotherapist didn’t supply the same quality of massages at each appointment, according to the time of the day or day of the week (he would be more tired at the end of the days for instance),” says Phil Hendey, UK sales manager. “From there came the idea of a device that would provide the same massages’ level of quality, regardless of the time of the day or the person handling it.”


From this, the first CELLUM6 system was born and not long after not only did the benefits convince health professionals that it was a worthwhile system, but also beauty professionals too. It was brought to the UK in 1997, where the system was sold via distributors. It wasn’t until 2010 that a subsidiary was opened in the centre of London to better serve LPG’s UK customers. Today’s UK showroom presents the latest generation of LPG products and offers the highest level of training, marketing and customer support.


The brand’s headquarters are still based in Valence, France, but since the conception of the CELLUM6, not only has distribution for the system spread to the UK, LPG has also has premises on the French Riviera, a prestigious Parisian showroom which regularly welcomesVIPs, stars and athletes. In 1998, LPG opened to the world, mainly thanks to FDA approval, with 70 distributors worldwide, a presence in more than 110 countries and three subsidiaries in Belgium, Italy and the UK. Today, the brand is run by Louis-Paul Guitay’s daughter, Nathalie Guitay and the UK sales manager is Phil Hendey, who is supported by a team of office managers, sales reps, trainers and technical agents.

The first generation of CELLUM6, intended for physiotherapists, benefited from a main motorised head patented exclusively to LPG and auxiliary heads for high precision tissue treatments. Its minimalist look seduced health professionals who were rapidly equipping themselves to benefit from its therapeutic actions. “A mechanical stimulation is performed on the skin’s surface using the exclusive LPG patented technology of roll and lift treatment heads. The stimulation sends a signal deep to target cells and reactivate their natural activity. The adipocytes restart fat release and the fibroblasts revive collagen and elastin production, generating visible and long lasting results – a slimmer, more contoured body and rejuvenated, youthful skin. LPG Mecano-Stimulation is the principle action of Endermologie, a unique connective tissue treatment performed by LPG CELLUM6 technologies,” says Phil.


1986 -The first LPG System is created inValence (France), the CELLUM6, dedicated to body treatments.


1988 -The Endermologie brand is created, the name of the LPG technique.


1991 -The first scientific study is carried out into the positive effects of the CELLUM6 on cellulite.


1998 - CELLUM6 gets FDA approval and opens its export sales department. LPG is launched into the UKmarket.


2000 - LIFT 6 is launched, the first LPG machine dedicated to face treatments for anti-ageing and rejuvenation action.
