Wheel clamping ban - is your property protected?

From October 2012, under the 'Protection of Freedoms act 2012' vehicle immobilisation activity will be an offence in England and Wales. 'Wheel clamping' of vehicles on private land will be outlawed and anyone found guilty of an offence under the act could be fined.

The act does however, state that the use of fixed barriers would not be an offence as long as they are already in situ (even if they are not in the up/closed position at the time of unauthorised entry).

You can view the act 'Protection of Freedoms act 2012 in full at:- http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2012/9/contents/enacted Autopa manufacture a wide range of Hinged posts, Removable posts, Retractable posts, Bollards, Barriers & Gates which provide fixed barriers suitable for a wide range of access control applications.
