SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

For the candidates, the objective is that

they find work and stay in work because they are better prepared for the industry

because they are better prepared for the industry and for the world of work.’

Employer database

Working with Jobcentre Plus, Asset Skills is creating a database matching local employer job offers for parking with JCP customers in four key cities: Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast and London. Other locations will be considered if employers have vacancies available. Each candidate will be tracked to measure the impact of the employability training, produce case studies for employers and monitor their progress to see how many remain in employment after six months. The scheme is also being run in the facilities management and cleaning industries, and Asset Skills aims to train 300 candidates, place 200 trained candidates into employment across the UK and track employees to evaluate the programme’s impact.

Employers in parking are being urged to get involved and support this project. For further information on the Sector Routeways Programme, contact Karen Waterlow, senior programme manager at kwaterlow@assetskills.org or call 07733 224 902.
