What I mean by that is, there is no magic here. Attracta SEO Tools makes the tasks involved to make your site more SEO friendly, easier. But it cannot bring you more traffic on its own, you still need to add your own content and keep it updated. You even mention this in your documentation.
This is true. Everything Attracta does is white hat, by the book, SEO best practices. Content is king. Having great, original, interesting content that viewers want to read is one of the best things a site can do to increase traffic from search engines.
Can you speak to the issues a Server Administrator might come into once he has registered his server and enabled Attracta Integration for his end users? What types of questions are you seeing in regard to end user confusion or problems?
We have never had a partner host complain of support issues caused by Attracta’s service. On the contrary, most hosts report fewer support tickets because of the ease their customers have getting their sites indexed by Google.
A few users may wonder why Attracta modified their robots.txt file or why the Attracta crawlers are hitting their site, or how to unsubscribe from email notices about their service with Attracta.
Can you give us some indication on how the translation of Attracta is going for those with an interest in waiting for that, before offering Attracta to their users?
We are in the process of translating our portal into all the languages cPanel supports. We expect to have this completed before Attracta hits the stable release tier.
On the technology side of all of this, of course assuming some of it is proprietary stuff, can you briefly give us some sort of walk through as to how your services work? Aside from the “How it Works” page on your site, what’s going on at your end for the curious tech users that might read this?
Actually, technology is what we are all about. We consider ourselves a technology platform aimed at enabling advanced features within the hosting industry. We have worked closely with cPanel to develop a very high level of service integration, in addition to our own patent-pending technology. Our server-side automation includes account provisioning with single sign on, robots.txt management and JavaScript injection. But the majority of our services are delivered through a SaaS architecture, with all the ‘heavy lifting’ done on our servers. I can’t go into any proprietary details here, but there is a lot of
“It’s been a wild ride since we first launched Attracta in August, 2009. We have over 1,000 hosting partners and tens of thousands of WHM reseller account partners. Since cPanel announced they were including Attracta, the number of new partners has definitely accelerated.”
Attracta has spent years perfecting its crawler technology to ensure it doesn’t harm or slow any server, automatically adjusting its crawl speed for each server. The crawler follows all disallow statements in the site’s robots.txt. Additionally, every e-mail notice sent by Attracta tells users how to unsubscribe by changing their e-mail preferences in their account or by contacting Attracta support.
The most common support questions are “What are these SEO tools?” Having your support people educated on the basics of Attracta does help answering these types of questions.
On the topic of revenue sharing for a moment. A question that some including myself had early on was, if I enable this feature on my server but do not actually register that server with Attracta properly, what happens to the revenue sharing?
We can’t pay you if we don’t know where to send the money. Once you register with Attracta in the WHM interface, Attracta automatically tracks and pays your revenue share retroactively for up to 12 days from the date of installation. However, we advise everyone to register right away.
complexity in the ‘back-end’ of Attracta. We service millions of websites through tens of thousands of hosts and WHM resellers. We also automate the integration of services from many third-party vendors, from Google on down. Our founders have an extensive background in the hosting, ecommerce and website security industries, with a lot of experience in successfully building robust scalable systems that can service millions of users.
Within the cPanel Interface for Attracta you provide quite a bit of documentation and tips on proper SEO. Can you tell us a bit about where these details are referenced elsewhere for more reading? You mention Google Webmasters tools. Can we assume that Attracta continually updates how its services work with Google and other Search Engines and you’ll also be keeping users aware via this built in documentation?
Yes, we are constantly updating our services to reflect changes Google and other search engines make to their recommended best practices. Our SEO services are closely tied to meeting basic elements of the Google Webmaster Guidelines. Many of our SEO Tips and other tutorial materials are either based on these guidelines, or are provided directly by the Google Webmaster Tools team.
