DAY 1 Arrive in Chile Transfer from Santiago International Airport to hotel. Afternoon and evening at leisure.


DAY 2 Andes Mountain Range


Depart your hotel on a scenic drive from the Central Valley of Santiago 160km (100 miles) northeast towards Portillo Ski Resort along the fertile agricultural Aconcagua Valley. Then venture into the Andes, where on clear days the highest peak, 21,000ft Aconcagua may be visible. Drive to an altitude of 2,855m (9,421ft) above sea level as your guide reveals the history, geology and flora of the area – and its importance to ancient civilisations. Enjoy lunch at the Hotel Portillo close to the breathtaking Laguna del Inca, a stunning lake set amongst the peaks before returning to the hotel.


DAY 3 Viña del Mar & Valparaíso


Depart your hotel and head west through the Casablanca Valley to the fashionable seaside resort of Viña del Mar. See its

famous landmark, the floral clock, and the Cerro Castillo, summer palace of the Presidents of the Republic. After a panoramic tour you will continue to Valparaiso where lunch will be served at a local restaurant. This afternoon depart on a driving tour of Valparaíso. In the city’s flat lower section known as El Plan, see the Plaza Sotomayor, dominated by the Naval Headquarters building and the impressive monument to the Heroes of Iquique. Then ascend into the residential upper section of narrow lanes, wrought iron lamp posts and crumbling pastel houses, draped over 42 hills. Later transfer to Queen Victoria.
