SPECIALIST publisher Rising Star Games is confident its Japanese titles will still find their audience – despite the hubbub of FPS blockbusters and a console launch. The publisher’s Q4 hopes are pinned on 360 and PS3 retro shooter Under Defeat and puzzler Virtue’s Last Rewardfor Vita and 3DS. And Rising Star believes these will each offer something different from the slew of shooters and racers that line the shelves every Christmas. “We know from experience that there is a market for these type of games and have built up a rather successful business from releasing these games,” said product marketing manager Yen Hau.

“We are going from strength to strength and pride ourselves that we know our audience and how to reach them – even without splashing big budgets. “These games provide excellent alternatives to tired sequels and ‘me too’ products. They offer gamers an option to try out some great new titles that still carry the spark of Japanese creativity and will help expand the options on retailers’ shelves.” Rising Star Games: 01462 860009
