NOT SO POINTLESS Lygo’s Wayne Friday had his 15 minutes of fame by taking part in TV quiz show Pointless. The quiz sees contestants try to score as few points as possible with correct answers to questions most people wouldn’t think of. Wayne and his wife Susan held their own with their knowledge of French words for vegetables, Elton John songs and surnames of UK MP’s called David, Nick or Ed.
PLAY YOUR SHARDS RIGHT Dishonored was championed for the design of its world, and now the game’s developers have turned their hand to real-world architecture, mocking up a Dunwall-style re-imagining of The Shard. Edited by Arkane Studios’ Viktor Antonov and Sebastien Mitton, this redesign of London’s most recognisable architectural wonder shows how The Shard would look if its builders had a taste for all things steampunk. Dishonored’s city setting is heavily influenced by London and Edinburgh architecture. So it’s only right those cities return the favour.
By day, they murder bugs and glitches – by night, Chicago-based arms dealers. This month, we’ve asked developers to step behind the trigger for our Hitman Sniper Challenge, and already we’ve received some solid scores. Dimensional Wave’s Daniel McAssey currently has the lead with 2.2m, but Guerilla’s Adam Fulster is close behind with just over 2m points. If you would like to take part in the Developer league of our Hitman Sniper Challenge, then simply fill in your details at tinyurl.com/sniperchallenge. Missed out on an earlier league? We’ll be inviting all and sundry to compete in November, before bringing back each month’s winners in December for the grand final. Don’t miss out on your chance to win the secret star prize. If you don’t already have Square Enix’s Hitman Absolution pre-order game, then simply ask us for a download code, which are available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Steam. Make sure to send a photo of your score and yourself by October 31st to sniperchallenge@intentmedia.co.uk.
