The other blockbuster was 2K GAMES’ Borderlands 2. The title is the second fastest selling game of the year. Its launch outsold the original Borderlandsby an impressive four to one.
There were other new titles. CODEMASTERS released the latest in its F1 franchise, while the latest PESfrom KONAMI is at No.8.
There’s also two PC-only releases in the Top Ten. BLIZZARD’s World of Warcraftexpansion – Mists of Pandaria– debuts at No.10. But the MMO king was NCSOFT with Guild Wars 2at No.6. The firm rose 51 places in the publisher rankings. However, Pandariawas released later in the month.

SEPTEMBER started off badly. The first two
weeks of the
month saw two of the poorest weeks of sales ever recorded. But by the end of the month things were looking far rosier, thanks to two blockbuster releases.
FIFA 13is top of the table by a long way. It sold 1.23m copies and generated £50.7m in just two days. FIFA 13’s unit sales rose 27 per cent over FIFA 12.
As a result EA shot right back to the summit of the publisher rankings.
